Index to photograph files, 1936-1943.

Contains an index to the WPA photograph files. The index is comprised of "photograph records". Each card lists title, description, date, negative number, and size of print, the number of duplicates, the book for which it was intended, credit line to be used when published (i.e. Writers' or Art Project) and "file classification". Although the photographer's name is generally not listed on the cards, it can be found on the reverse of the print.
